Just because Black History Month is drawing to a close doesn’t mean education about Black history should. We thought we’d take this moment to round up some valuable partners, resources and collaborators that may inspire you or your organization to elevate Black voices through your work. Let’s commit to making every month Black History Month.
Equal Justice Initiative
As part of our “Racial Justice” content series, for which the Ad Council uses its platform to support external organizations dedicated to dismantling systemic racism and injustice, we are amplifying “Ripples,” a powerful video by the Equal Justice Initiative that encourages Americans to address our country’s legacy of racial inequality as a first step to truth and justice. Courageous Conversation
Another partner in our “Racial Justice” content series, Courageous Conversation created “Not a Gun,” which aims to address the systemic issue of police brutality against people of color by highlighting unconscious racial bias—Black people are three times as likely than white people to be killed by the police. NAACP
Founded in 1909, the NAACP partnered with the Ad Council to host a virtual town hall on February 25th that featured leading researchers, medical experts and policy makers discussing the facts about COVID-19 vaccination. To learn more about their 100-plus-year history, check out their website here.
Love Has No Labels
Our Emmy-winning campaign isn’t just a campaign—it’s a movement to promote diversity, equity and inclusion of all people across race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age and ability. In the summer of 2020, at a powerful moment in our nation’s history, LHNL created work that specifically and directly addressed anti-Black racism, and the work continues today.
